Protect bird habitats

The Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation has launched a fundraising campaign in order to make the protection of birds more effective. The proceeds of the campaign will be used to protect important bird habitats around the country. The Foundation is particularly focused on purchasing and protecting valuable and increasingly endangered old forests, and within the bird campaign special attention will be directed towards valuable bird habitats, such as mires, wetlands, islands and coasts.

35 percent of Finnish bird species are endangered, which is more than in any other species group. Protecting birds and monitoring the bird populations also played an important part in the work of Pentti Linkola, founder of the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation.

You can participate in protecting bird habitats on our campaign page or by making a bank transfer to the Foundation’s bank account:

– Enter Luonnonperintösäätiö as recipient
– Transfer the sum of your choice to the donation account FI78 5494 0950 0224 93
– Use the reference number 3366

The fundraising campaign was launched in May 2023 and will be running for three years.
