Utterinvuori is a 54-hectare forest area on top of a mountain and in its surroundings in Hauho close to Hämeenlinna. Utterinvuori rises fifty metres higher than Iso-Roine nearby, and not being exposed to cuttings, the site is exceptional in the Häme region with its tall trees that can be seen from far. The hold-overs of the oldest sections are several hundred years old. It is generally known that there used to be a sacrificial tree on top of the mountain, its base probably still being visible.
The Utterinvuori area was acquired with donations from the Pelimetsä(link is external) project. Pelimetsä is a nature conservation project arranged by the Finnish Game Developers’ Association with many influential people and enterprises working in the field behind it. The sum donated by Pelimetsä during the first stage in 2020 – a total of almost 500 000 euros – is the largest single donation given to the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation, excluding wills.

Utterinvuori on vuorenlakimetsä Hauholla, Hämeenlinnan lähistöllä. Läheistä Iso-Roinetta 50 metriä korkeammalle kohoava Utterinvuori on hakkaamattomana poikkeus hämäläisessä maisemassa.
