A forest area with high preservation value in Parkkimäki in Nurmijärvi. Below the rock slopes at the northern end of the conservation area grows lush herb-rich forest and sturdy lime trees, while the tops of the slopes are covered in pine-dominated, rocky old forest. The entire area has plenty of decayed trees.

Parkkimäki is also home to some of Nurmijärvi’s municipal walking trails. Hiking is still allowed in the conservation area, but the trail network will not be expanded, as the natural values of the area cannot sustain the level of wear of the terrain that larger visitor numbers might cause. The forest was sold to the Foundation by a private individual who is very pleased to see the forest protected.

The area will be named the Peace of Mind conservation area according to the wishes of the seller.
