Herlevinlähde is an area of approximately ten hectares in Ullava close to the eastern edge of Kokkola. The site is located south of the Lähdeneva bog with its puddles in the proximity of the Herlevinharju ridge rising majestically from the surrounding terrain. The Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation bought this pine swamp in December 2019 on the free market, and it was acquired on the recommendation of the Ostrobothnia nature conservation district. The area hides an exceptional spring lined by old alders, the water bubbling out of the ground only to return under the ground at a short distance.
