Kivimäki forest is a spruce-dominated mixed forest with sturdy trees. Part of the area has previously been used as woodland pasture. The majority of the forest is over 90 years old, and there is a significant number of very large spruces in the area. As the name Kivimäki (rocky hill) suggests, many parts of the area are rocky. The closest conservation area is located approximately half a kilometre from Kivimäki.
